James Francis Armstrong III
November 16, 1923 - April 23, 2010
Savannah - James Francis Armstrong III died on April 23, 2010 at Heritage Park Healthcare in Savannah, Georgia. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on November 16, 1923, son of James and Wilma Armstrong and grandson of James and Dora Armstrong. He was preceded in death by his son, Darby John Armstrong in 2009. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Annette Alderman Armstrong of Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida and Thomasville, Georgia. He is also survived by his son, James Francis Armstrong IV Susan and daughter, Jan A. Conners Joe and grandsons, Joseph and John Conners. Jim attended Gulf Coast Military Academy and flew with the USAF Air Transport Command in WWII. He attended the University of Alabama and was a member of DKE fraternity. He was president of Shamrock System, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia. He later represented Guest Services, Inc. of Fairfax, Virginia.
A private graveside service will be held in Thomasville, Georgia.
